Press releases » 25. Consumer Protection Board of Estonia is waiting for consumers´ applications in respect of cancelled package travels of Top Tours AS until the 11th of June 2010

 

On 21.05.2010 the travel company Top Tours informed Consumer Protection Board about termination of its activity because of financial difficulties and inability to fulfil the obligations arisen from the package travel contracts.

Therefore, the Consumer Protection Board is asking the consumers, who have made advance payments for cancelled Top Tours travels, to submit respective applications described as follows:

The package travels purchased directly from Top Tours – application with the copies of supporting documents (i.e. contract, vouchers, proof of payment etc.) shall be submitted to the Consumer Protection Board by regular post (Kiriku str. 4, 15071 Tallinn Estonia) or by e-mail (info at tka dot riik dot ee) as soon as possible but on the 11^th of June 2010 at the latest. Also the consumer’s bank account details should be added to the application.

The applications which are not submitted within the declared deadline will not be reviewed by the Board.

The package travels of Top Tours purchased from other travel agents - application with the copies of supporting documents (i.e. contract, vouchers, proof of payment etc.) shall be submitted to the travel agent from whom the package has been bought. The travel agents would collect the consumers´ applications and forward them with the copies of documents certifying the transfer of money to Top Tours, to Consumer Protection Board at the latest by 11^th of June 2010.

The consumers who have made the travel insurance contracts are asked also to contact their insurance company.
