37. Only half of enterprises fill their obligations to present prices in two currencies

From July 1, 2010, until June 30, 2011, in addition to kroons, the prices of goods and services offered to consumers shall also be presented in the euros. The CPB made a check-up to get an overview how many enterprises are showing two prices and are the prices presented in right way.

The CPB checked 190 different stores, e-stores and service enterprises all over Estonia. The check-up included banks, hairdressers, gas stations, shoemakers etc. 98 infringements were identified (51%), mainly because of the lack of dual prices. Some enterprises had not calculated prices using the correct cource (15,6466).

The check-up included 100 e-shops, 55 infringements were identified. 39 of them had not presented dual prices at all, 7 times there were problems with the wrong rounding rule and 9 times the prices were calculated using the wrong cource.

80 times the CPB went to the shops and enterprices and identified infringements in 38 shops (services).

The CPB gave enterprises additional periood (from few days to two weeks) to eliminate the flaws and goes to the after checkup to see if all mentioned shortcomings have been eliminated.

The CPB information and counceling-phone 6 201 707 and 1330 recieved 64 calls during the firs week and the CPB got 8 written questions by the consumers and enterpreneurs regarding dual prices.

The CPB will continue intensively to check the presentation of dual prices. Inc ase of ingringemets the CPB take appropriate sanctions in use.
